Nine and a half weeks old

Here’s Derek’s puppy Apollo at 9 1/2 weeks old. He seems bigger almost every day.

Here he is in his usual mode — biting! He doesn’t try to hurt and usually it’s just a gentle nip, but his baby teeth are sharp and once in a while he breaks skin.
Sharp teeth!

I can still outrun him, but that won’t last long. He will soon be able to jump out of his 2′-high pen in the kitchen too.

I wanted to get a picture of the roundworms for Richard, but he appears to be rid of them.

  2. Aw. And I was really looking forward to seeing them. Oh well, Apollo is really cute too.

  3. I love his beautiful transparent blue eyes! I can attest to the playful biting breaking the skin. He got me pretty good the other night. But he’s so cute, who can complain?

I see Derek’s “Target” badge. How’s the new job going?

  4. It’s going well. I just finished my third day of training. I’m not sure how much you’ve heard but I’m working for Target Corporation as a Credit Advisor/Collector. After about two weeks of training i’ll start taking live calls. So far it’s been a fun and educational experience.

  5. When do the experts say you should begin breaking him of the biting? I know it is just playful and what he would be doing with his siblings, but at some point he needs to learn that he never bites a human. There must be some time and method the experts say to use, or does he just naturally outgrow it?

  6. Not sure what the experts say, but we are working on it. He rarely bites my hand anymore (he knows better!), but when I’m walking him and he gets excited he will still grab hold of my pants or shoes occasionally. I think we will break him of it before too much longer.

Chewing on other things is another story. I hear that you never break a Husky of chewing on things. They can destroy a sofa in a few minutes. The trick is to keep them active, exercise them regularly, and never leave them alone with anything expensive and chewable.

  7. That last item means that I can never baby sit him alone.

  8. Yes, I agree. Gma is far too expensive and chewable to be left alone with Apollo.

  9. Now that Apollo is 11 weeks old, we need an updated picture.

  10. Are you talking to yourself? Regardless, I agree. Let’s see the boy!

  11. I posted a comment from Mom’s computer and changed the name to mine. I have to change it back for her.

OK, I’ll try to get some new pictures up soon. He is growing amazingly fast, but he still can’t catch up with his feet — they are huge.
