Devon in the news

November 9th, 2011 · 10 Comments

The past couple of days, Devon has been in most of the Taiwan newspapers and and TV news shows. I think it’s some kind of publicity push by his agency to try to make him a star. He is getting ready to participate in a Taiwan “American Idol” show, or similar contest.

Here’s an article from one paper (front page). Note the picture of Justin Beiber — they think he looks a lot like him:

And here are a couple of news segments on him:

Look at all the girls eager to have their pictures taken with him! He said he has had about 400 Facebook friend requests in the past couple of days

They look nothing alike. Devon is MUCH more handsome. If I were 70 years younger, I’d fall in love with him myself; but I do love him, as his grandmother.

Pretty cool. I had to brag a little to my co-workers.

Justin Beiber isn’t really that good a singer but they have done a great job marketing him.

Wow! Really cool! It’s amazing how well he speaks Chinese now.

He really picked up Chinese fast. I’m sure it’s partly from hearing it spoken at home a lot, and those lessons we made him take when he was in grade school (which he detested) didn’t hurt either.

I think he speaks a little better than I do now.

And still he won’t accept my friend request. 😛

Maybe someday he’ll be selling out Madison Square Garden and all from a start in Taiwan. Never Say Never!!

Donna, it took years before he accepted my friend request. I never post (well, one time) which I think he appreciates.

Yeah, I’d be all over his wall.

    (just kidding…)

Yeah I figured he didn’t accept mine because of politics but when I heard he didn’t accept Donna’s it made me feel a little less ignored.

I never pictured him as being an entertainer. He seems too shy.

Wow! That degree in physics really paid off…..

Remind him that stars come and stars go. Invest any earnings wisely. I hope he goes far in the contest.
