Moving in to U of A

August 16th, 2006 · 9 Comments

We took Derek down to Tucson today with a van full of his stuff to get him moved into his dorm. He came back home with us this evening. We will make another trip Friday or Saturday with the rest of his stuff and he will stay.

Devon is still here for another week, then he’s off to California and we start learning about living in an empty nest.

Don’t worry. They keep finding their way back for a long time to come. Maybe if you secretly moved and did not leave a forwarding address…….

The Tucson trip is much easier than the California one, isn’t it? Twice down there in one week!

Much easier! Almost exactly 1.5 hours each way with reasonable traffic. We just got back a couple of hours ago, sans Derek.

Somehow he ended up with a single room, so he’s got everything arranged just as he likes it, and nobody to trip over or hang neckties on the doorknob for.

Neckties on the doorknob! Oh no! I hope you’ve had “the talk” with him. I guess if you haven’t yet, it’s probably too late. 😉

    What day do classes start?

    Classes start on Monday.

Neckties on the doorknob is just the typical college dorm cliche. My little boy would never think of doing anything like that…

My youngest grandchild is in college, and now along comes Deidra, the oldest of the great-grands, already in Middle School. No wonder I feel so old!

And your youngest grandchild turned 18 today.

    Oh yeah. Happy Birthday, Derek!

Has he called home yet, with a problem?
