All the March Madness

March 14th, 2006 · 7 Comments

To all you basketball fans:

CBS claims that they broadcasting all the games this year if you have digital television. Our local Channel 5 has 3 digital channels available and the schedule is full of games starting Thursday morning.

I understand that Cox and Cable America will also be carrying all the games.

Arizona tips off against Wisconsin on Friday at 10:30 am, MST.

I have decided to go with picking the team that has the toughest sounding mascot in each game. In certain situations it makes it tough. i.e. which is tougher an Aggie or an Orangeman. Or what happens in a fight of Husky vs. Husky? All in all it works though I end up with a Devil winning… surely a devil wins over all these others? Although if Oral Roberts were healthy I think with a little fervent prayer and perhaps some oil of some sort, he could take ’em. Anyway, go tough mascot! Anyone have a list of all the school’s mascots and what the heck is a Hokie anyway?

Well, you don’t get much tougher than a Wildcat, even though that includes about 1/3 of the teams in the tournament.
Personally I prefer more original and unique names, but they’re my team, so I guess I have to live with it.

How about the Banana Slugs, eh Daryl?

Ken, if your Devil theory worked, ASU would be in the tournament.

Maybe Blue is a lot stronger than Sun when it comes to Devils?

Well, March Madness is still fun, but a lot less fun than it was earlier today before UA lost.

The future looks pretty good with Marcus Williams a year older, and Juwan McClellan back.

I think we only lose Rodgers and Adams, and though they had flashes of brilliance through the year, they weren’t dependable enough to carry the team on their shoulders when they needed to.

Isaiah Fox is also a senior, but not much loss. Hopefully none of the juniors declare for the draft. Mustafa, Ivan and Kirk will really round out a great team next year. With our young star, Marcus Williams, and the new recruits we have coming on board, it should be a stellar year. I’m already drooling!
