Our new floors are in!
The carpet has been down in the guest room for over a week.
The tiles in the bathroom and laundry room are finally complete, though they had to redo them more than once to get them reasonably even.
The laminate is complete in the family room, hall and office. At first I was disappointed in how the laminate looked, but once they installed and painted the molding, it suddenly looked much, much better. I like it a lot now, at least appearance-wise. It’s not as comfortable to walk on as carpet, of course.
The new vanity should be installed on Monday or Tuesday, and the counter top a week after that. So we still have a couple of weeks before everything is really “back to normal”. But except for the bathroom we are in the process of moving everything back.

Have they built the shelving on your TV wall yet?
Will people be asked to remove their shoes to walk on the wood floor?

Make sure Gisele does all the heavy lifting while moving furniture back. Just stand and point where it goes. You need to save your knee for hiking. 😉

Is the new furniture in? What is happening to the old? It’s too good to throw away, just because you are sick of it, so I hope that somebody can get a lot of usage out of it.

Dale, the knee is getting better. I can’t use it as an excuse any more, darn it. As long as I don’t play basketball again before we go I should be fine.
Mom, We gave the sectional to Derek, and an old sofa to Gisele’s church, but haven’t decided what to do with some of the other items. We certainly won’t trash anything.

If you do get rid of the recliner, be sure you have one as good as the last one, so that I have a throne when I am there.
