I just got back from the airport, where Gisele left on a two-week trip to France. Most summers she goes for a month of intensive language instruction, but this year it’s a two week tour of the “Bourdeau” region, visiting castles (“Chateaus”), wineries and scenery.
Derek and I are bach-ing it until she gets back.

Lucky, lucky Gisele. She’s a world traveler, all right. And when she gets back, you guys leave for Peru, don’t you?
Maybe I’ll have to bake something yummy for you bachelors.

She’ll be home for about two weeks before we leave for Peru (July 5).

And I think a trip to the grocery store is exciting!

If I were there, I’d make cinnamon rolls.

I heard from Gisele yesterday that she got there safe and sound. Besides not sleeping at night very well yet, she’s having lots of fun.

When does Gisele get home? How about an update on her trip.

She comes home tomorrow evening about 8:20. In fact, as I was reading your question, she called from the Paris Airport Hotel, where she is spending her last night.
She said she had a wonderful time. She really got along well with the other people on the tour, they talked and laughed a lot. Her only regret is that they didn’t speak French very much (English instead).
