We’ve got a little travel planned for the summer.
Gisele is going to France for a tour of castles (“Chateaus”) the first couple of weeks of June.
Then the first three weeks of July the whole family is going to Peru. We’re friends with a family who came from there and they have organized a tour of about 10 friends. We’ll see Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Pichu for the high points, with lots of little places in between. There may be a side trip to see the “Nasca Lines” from the air, but it might not fit in conveniently.
Otherwise, it will be a quick trip to bring Devon home this weekend, and a quick trip to take him back next weekend. He has a summer job at the college he attends (Harvey Mudd). Derek will be going down to Tucson for a two-day orientation at the U of A in preparation for his enrolling there in the fall. He was accepted into the Honor’s College.
Maybe a trip or two to the mountains to escape the heat.
And that’s a brief preview of our summer travel plans!

Your family has seen more of the world than anyone else I know. Lucky you-s! I guess that means I’ll have to eat up your peaches while you’re gone, huh?
Is Devon taking off from his summer job at Harvey Mudd for the trip to Peru or will he be doen by then?

Peaches should be done before we leave. You’re welcome to come get some before then, of course. Maybe by next week.
Devon is taking off 1 1/2 weeks to come with us, but will return early so as to not miss too much work.

Just heard from Devon. We’re off to LA tomorrow to bring him home. We may spend the night over there if it takes too long to get him packed up, or we may come home the same day.

Devon wasn’t quite ready when we got there — last minute assignments took about 30 hours more than he had anticipated, so we spent the night at Gisele’s brother’s house nearby and hung around waiting. Got home about 2:30 this morning. I can still feel the caffeine at 12:00 noon!
Right Heather, Derek has joined the light side of the force!

And the light side of your wallet, right? I bet he has a scholarship to UA.

What is Derek planning to major in?

Derek’s not sure yet. He’s recently talked about Math or Medicine, but since he changes frequently we won’t know for sure until he finally receives his degree.

Sounds like an interesting & scenic vacation. Enjoy!
Will he be class valedictorian?
