We’re headed up to Greer for the weekend, to stay in a cabin owned by the Bates family. If you don’t know, Greer is a tiny village in the White Mountains south east of Showlow.
Next week Devon is flying back to Southern California to interview with a Geophysics company. Sounds like it could be an interesting job for a year or so until he is ready to move on to Graduate School, though he plans to apply elsewhere also before making a decision. They sound very interested in him.

Hope you took your “long johns”. Greer used to be the coldest spot in the country many days. Now, it’s too small to count. Stay warm and enjoy.

Why didn’t you take Apollo to Greer? I can’t imagine that anyone would have enjoyed it more. Cool country, lots of trees to mark, and space to explore.

We thought about it too, but huskies are notorious for running away and not finding their way back. They don’t have a homing instinct. So we would have had him tied up outside the cabin all the time, getting tangled up in trees. It just didn’t sound like a vacation he or we would enjoy.
Plus the 4 hours in the car each way.

On a different note I’m trying to figure out which is sadder. Robin giving up on her blog or Daryl still having it listed as Holsingers in Alaska.

A little bit of good news: Robin says Roland is going to start posting on their photo gallery. He takes lots of pictures of the kids, so will at least keep that updated.
I told her how much we all missed her blogging, but she says she’s just too busy now with working and raising her family.
